The first time I unpacked the caliper, I didn’t think of it as something extraordinary. It looks like most other digital calipers made of stainless steel.
However, using it for the first time made me feel different. The caliper is ergonomic in shape, so it feels comfortable in my hands. The thumbscrew is also very smooth to turn. I used it to measure shell lengths, and I was surprised to see that I got the same measurement each time.
The Use Phase
After a few more uses, the caliper got more comfortable and easy to use. If someone has been using a dial caliper or any other caliper for a long time, it may need some time to get used to. However, once the awkward first phase passes, the caliper is pretty amazing to use.
Calipers need re-calibrating. The relieving thing is, this one is pretty straightforward to zero. There’s a button I can press, and it re-calibrates from any previous uses.
